Frayler Works The Dream!
| Arthur Frayler beats Fran’s GA Pool record |
Germantown Academy Swimming is a program built on the stories of legends. Coach Shoulberg constantly preaches to his current athletes about the superhuman achievements of his past swimmers. Since the day Arthur Frayler arrived on GA’s pool deck, he has looked those legends in the face and competed against them – with respect – for the title of GA’s toughest.
Fran was the reigning champ – no one could swim longer, stronger, or faster. But last week in dramatic fashion, Arthur took one more step to becoming the most decorated distance swimmer to walk the halls of the “Academy.” Arthur broke Fran’s pool record in the 500 yard freestlye (4.25.9) with a time of 4:24.65.
All who knew Fran knows Fran would have been the first one there to shake Arthur hand after he touched the wall. He would have been ecstatic that a person of Arthur’s quality is the next GA distance swimmer to carry the torch. And he would have been honored to call him a teammate, a competitor and friend. Today we salute Arthur Frayler, not just because he Works The Dream EVERY DAY – but because he Works The Dream with class. As Fran would say, Arthur, you are the MAN.
